Superhero Training
Calling all SuperHeroes
For active students to train to be our future superheroes, our superhero program is a coed recreational program that combines recreational gymnastics, obstacle courses, fitness and character development. All levels of the program will learn gymnastics skills using a combination of events including: Bars, Beam, Vault, Uneven Bars, Parallel Bars, Rings, High Bar, and a variety of Obstacle Courses. This is not a parkour or free-running class. The skills taught in this program should prepare students for obstacle courses and gymnastics training. This program has a heavy focus on strength and flexibility training while building problem solving skills, team work, and independence.
Level Up Program
Upper levels (SideKicks, Heroes, SuperHeroes, and Villains) will have required metrics the students must meet to be placed in that program.
Superhero’s don’t just advance based on skills, they grow from completing feats! Our SuperHero program will provide opportunities for students to perform a series of challenges determining which training level they belong in. These challenges will be presented in 2 stages: a strength/flexibility test and an obstacle challenge course.
In the Strength/Flexibility test, called SuperHero Abilities, Levels, & Technique (or S.A.L.T.), students perform multiple exercises to earn a score. Each exercise has a point value based on how well they do, and the total scores determine if they can move to the next level. The S.A.L.T. will be split between 2 weeks of classes every other month.
S.A.L.T. scores needed to advance to the Challenge Course differ from level to level, each level needing a progressively higher total score to be invited to the Challenge Course.
In the Challenge Course, the metrics will dictate how far a student must progress in the course to be in that level. The course is designed to present harder and harder challenges for students to overcome. The course will be split into stages, with each stage being an order more difficult than the last. The Challenge Course will be offered 1 Saturday every calendar Quarter. To attend the Challenge Course, the students will need to attain certain total point value on their S.A.L.T. test.
